During the same period, the cargo volume of Chinese ports stood at 7580 million tons, a slight decline of 0.8 per cent year-on-year.

The average value of the Ningbo Container Freight index (NCFI) in July decreased by 5.9 per cent compared to last month, as shipping demand slumped on the Ningbo Zhoushan Port-West Costal of North America route.

Last month Chinese ports reported a raise in container volumes over the first five months of 2022, totalling 116.5 million TEU for a 2.3 per cent increase year-on-year.
